Things To See And Do
Scarborough
The seaside town of Scarborough is within easy reach of York, Hull, Pickering, the North York Moors, Heartbeat Country and Whitby, Scarborough is a good base for all the local attractions, with a good range of local shops and amenities.
All our properties in Scarborough are within walking distance of the beach, seafront and harbour.

The seafront has a good range of activities, including amusements, boating trips, harbour fishing, cinemas and theatres. There is a great sandy beach and shallow waters.
Scarborough is home to ‘The Royal’ TV series and the main location is just minutes walk from our Scarborough holiday flats.

There is a Sealife Centre located in the north bay with an underwater tank, seals, penguins and otters among other animals.
Scarborough is also the home of the Stephen Joseph theatre the main base for Alan Ayckbourn and his plays.
There is also the Castle run by English Heritage. The castle runs special fun days, such as Jousting, Re-enactment and roman days.

Near the castle is the grave of Anne Bronte one of the famous Bronte sister authors.

Most of the church was destroyed in the conflict and the remains of where the seige was conducted from can be seen.
Within easy reach near Pickering and Malton is Flamingo Land, a themed ride amusement park and zoo, which is a fun day out for all the family.
Also at Pickering is the North York Moors railway, a privately run steam and diesel railway that runs through the heart of the North Yorkshire Moors.
Please note that in extremely hot weather the railway runs less Steam engines due to the risk of the moors catching fire.
The train stops at Goathland as one of the stops, the scene for tv’s Heartbeat series, and some services now run all the way to Whitby with it’s famous abbey, the setting for Bram Stoker’s Dracula.
There are local golf courses at Scarborough, Lebberston, Hunmanby and a championship golf course at Ganton just outside Scarborough.
Scarborough is also within easy reach of Robin Hoods Bay, a fishing hamlet that has changed little in hundreds of years, please be aware that it is very steep with steps and there is no car access into the harbour.
